Flying the Flag for a Great British Education… Abbey College Manchester, DLD College London and Abbey College Cambridge, all part of the Alpha Plus Group, have hosted international tours for key figures in the education sector, raising worldwide awareness of the three cities and showcasing the UK as a desirable destination for potential students.

The colleges welcomed agents from countries across the world including Hong Kong, Thailand, Hungary, Brazil, Vietnam, South Korea and Germany, as they followed a jam-packed itinerary of events to familiarise themselves with the educational establishments and learn more about the cultural, education and business opportunities available to students in each of the three locations.

The first stop on their international tour was Abbey College Manchester, where the group explored the well-equipped college and embarked on a walking tour of the city centre to visit key landmarks. The agents then sampled first-hand Abbey College Manchester’s unique Academic Studies with Sports Training programmes, visiting the facilities for both football and basketball, before closing their visit with a tour of the college’s boarding house.

Next on the schedule, the agents enjoyed a student-led tour of Abbey College Cambridge’s first-class facilities. The group also had the opportunity to gain an insight into student experience during a panel discussion, and learn about the boarding and pastoral provision.

Concluding their three-day tour, the agents headed to London. They met with Principal Irfan Latif, indulged in a delicious lunch in the school’s Global Kitchen, and participated in a tour of the college to view its boarding facilities, gym, pool and rooftop terrace.

Dotted in throughout the schedule were dinners with key Alpha Plus and Abbey DLD staff where the agents got to meet with, and ask questions of the leadership team in a relaxed setting.

Janine Reeves, Global Head of Sales at the Alpha Plus Group commented, “Our international agents are highly valued members of our Abbey DLD Colleges family, they play a significant role in the global recruitment of students while ensuring a seamless and efficient application process. We are delighted to have been afforded the opportunity to reconnect with these agents face-to-face, bolstering our international relations and showcasing the exceptional prospects for students studying here in the UK.”
