Packets to Picnic Blankets at Felsted School

Posted: 30th May 2022

Felsted Prep School pupils are leading the way in the promotion of sustainability in schools.

The British International Education Association has called for students from schools in the UK and beyond to be part of a skill-sharing project to raise awareness of sustainability.

Felsted Prep were inspired to create a sustainable picnic blanket made entirely from crisp packets. As part of the project, pupils  collected, cleaned, ironed and sewed together the blanket which will be presented to the Government on 24th May in Parliament.

The blankets also carry messages of change and hope to continue to raise awareness of sustainability among decision-makers in government.

This project is one of many ways that Felsted School pupils and staff are making a conscious effort to be more sustainable. Felsted now uses 100% renewable electricity on the school site, as well as compostable coffee cups and plastic-free sanitary products.
