Richard Huish College is celebrating a historic achievement after its cricket team was crowned champions in the AoC National Final following a dominant performance against Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG).

In a superb all-round display, Huish elected to bowl first and produced a disciplined performance in the field, restricting NSCG to just 138 runs from their 20 overs.

The Huish batters then took control of the contest, chasing down the target in remarkable fashion and reaching the required total in just 10 overs, securing a comprehensive victory and etching their names into the college’s sporting history.

The triumph caps off an extraordinary season for the team, who finish the year unbeaten, demonstrating exceptional skill, commitment and teamwork throughout the campaign.

Adding to the significance of the achievement, Huish was the only college in the competition to field female athletes in every fixture, showcasing the college’s commitment to inclusion and excellence in sport.

Everyone at Huish College is immensely proud of the players and coaching staff for their dedication and success on the national stage.

Congratulations to the Huish cricketers on a truly historic and unforgettable season.
