Head of Haberdashers’ Monmouth School, Melvyn Roffe MBE, said:
“We are excited to be announcing our partnership Team Wales ahead of the 2026 Commonwealth Games. We share a commitment to engaging a wide range of people in sport and active leisure activities and an ambition to nurture talent to achieve the most ambitious goals. “Sport is at the heart of who we are at Haberdashers’ Monmouth School. We want every young athlete, whether they are taking their first steps on the pitch or striving for elite performance, to feel supported, challenged and inspired. This partnership with Team Wales is a powerful reflection of that vision and brings a fantastic opportunity for our students to connect with high-performance sport and role models who represent dedication and national pride. I have seen first-hand the impact that meaningful pathways and world-class environments can have on young athletes, and I’m delighted that our pupils will benefit from this exceptional opportunity.”
The partnership will run across the next Commonwealth Youth Games cycle to inspire young people, celebrate Welsh sporting achievement and continued success of Team Wales athletes on the international stage.
