BSA Certified Agents are now eligible to receive complimentary ICEF Agency Status (IAS) for a three-year period.
IAS is an independent, structured status framework designed to help education institutions identify agencies that meet defined eligibility requirements and have completed a reference-based review process. IAS is not an inspection process, nor does it act as a certification of quality. Instead, it provides institutions with an additional independent reference point when selecting and maintaining partnerships with education agents.
The initiative forms part of BSA’s ongoing commitment to promoting transparency, professionalism, and trusted relationships within the international student recruitment sector.
IAS is referenced by institutions and sector organisations across more than 50 countries, spanning secondary education, language education, higher education, vocational training, and related sectors. Many established agencies choose to obtain IAS as institutions increasingly seek clear, independent indicators when assessing long-term recruitment partnerships.
Through this collaboration, eligible agencies within the BSA Certified Agent Scheme will be contacted by ICEF’s Agent Relations team to guide them through the short application and verification process required to obtain IAS. Agencies may also request participation by contacting BSA directly.
David Walker FTIOB, Director, BSA, said: “The BSA Certified Agent Scheme was created to support professionalism in international recruitment. Providing complimentary ICEF Agency Status to BSA Certified Agents offers an additional recognised reference point that schools can rely on when building trusted partnerships.”
Markus Badde, CEO, ICEF said: “We are very pleased to extend ICEF Agency Status to agencies participating in the BSA Certified Agent Scheme. This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to transparency, professionalism and trusted relationships between institutions and their agent partners. ICEF Agency Status provides institutions with a structured, independent reference point when selecting and maintaining partnerships with education agencies, based on a reference-led review process.”
BSA Certified Agents that already hold ICEF Agency Status do not need to reapply. When their existing IAS expires, they will be able to renew without paying renewal fees.
