Taunton School has revealed images of its new library and sixth form centre, due to be completed this summer.
The artistβs impressions show a modern sixth form centre with study pods, a social space and gender neutral toilets while the library has a contemporary feel with 36 study spaces and automatic low energy LED lighting.
DΓ©cor in the refurbished sixth form centre and library were designed with the help of Year 11 and Year 12 students who will be using the facilities from September 2022.
Terry Harris, Taunton Schoolβs Head of Estates, said: βWeβre delighted to reveal the artistβs impressions of our new sixth form centre and library and weβre looking forward to the new academic year when our students can make the most of these modern facilities.
βAt Taunton School weβre always looking to the future to provide the best possible facilities for our students.β
The new facilities are being built in the schoolβs old upper and lower dining rooms which became surplus space after the new Β£3.6million dining room was opened in 2020.
The next phase of Taunton Schoolβs development plan includes a state-of-the art international school and improved sports facilities.
