“Prevention is always more effective than response. Across the education sector, K9 Deployment’s trained drug detection dogs are helping boarding schools strengthen proactive safeguarding measures through professional, non-invasive screening services that support both staff and students.

Meet Millie, our latest recruit. Millie is a two-year-old yellow Labrador and a fully trained dual-purpose detection dog. She is trained to detect illegal substances on individuals and across a range of environments, including buildings, vehicles, and outdoor areas.

Living at home with her handler as part of the family, Millie has a calm and sociable temperament with a strong working capability. She regularly operates nationwide across schools, mental health facilities, and workplace environments, supporting organisations in maintaining safe and secure spaces.

Millie thoroughly enjoys her work and the many people she meets along the way. Outside of work, she is a typical Labrador, enjoying food, sunbathing, and swimming whenever she gets the opportunity.

Most recently, Millie attended the Boarding Schools’ Association Heads Conference, where she met delegates and demonstrated the calm and sociable temperament that supports her work within educational settings.

K9 Deployment works with schools across the UK, providing tailored detection dog services that complement existing safeguarding and pastoral care strategies.

If you would like to arrange a visit from our detection dogs and meet Millie or her canine colleagues, please contact K9 Deployment on 01243 756162 or email Charli, Operations Manager at charli@k9deployment.co.uk.”
