BSA Group expands safeguarding support for members

Posted: 17th April 2026

To strengthen BSA’s safeguarding support for schools, specialist consultancy and training provider The Athena Programme has become part of BSA Group.

Founded by Dr Sarah Carlick, The Athena Programme supports a wide range of UK customers through a team of expert associates and staff.

Through The Athena Programme, BSA will extend its safeguarding training and consultancy for member schools, further supporting excellence in boarding.

The Athena Programme announcement is BSA Group’s second development of safeguarding services following the launch of SACPA (Safeguarding and Child Protection Association) in 2020, which today has more than 400 members worldwide.

The Athena Programme has a team of four staff who now join BSA Group, reporting to Dale Wilkins, Executive Director (Accredited and Compliance) and Vice Chair of SACPA, and Deputy CEO/COO Aileen Kane, who was launch Director of SACPA.

“BSA Group maintains a relentless focus on providing safeguarding advice, guidance and training for schools and many other customers,” said Dale.

“The safeguarding expertise offered by The Athena Programme is extensive and we are delighted to be bringing that experience into BSA Group.”
