Ratcliffe College is delighted to announce the appointment of Mrs Sharon Boccaccini as the new Head of Ratcliffe College Preparatory School, commencing in January 2026.
Mrs Boccaccini joins Ratcliffe with over 25 years’ experience in independent education. She currently leads the Preparatory School at St Joseph’s College, Reading, and has held a variety of senior roles in leading independent schools, including Head of Academic Studies and Director of Sport.
Her career has spanned academic, pastoral, and co-curricular leadership, with a strong focus on nurturing the whole child. Outside of school, Mrs Boccaccini is a keen hockey player, currently managing the Reading Ladies 1st XI and winning European and World Cup medals as manager of the England Women’s Over 35s Hockey Team. Mrs Boccaccini has two sons who are studying Medical Engineering and Accountancy, and along with her husband they are looking forward to becoming part of the Ratcliffe College community.
Speaking about her appointment, Mrs Boccaccini,
“I am delighted to be joining Ratcliffe College as Head of the Preparatory School in January. I look forward to getting to know the children and their families, and to becoming part of the Ratcliffe Community.”
Headmaster, of Ratcliffe College, Mr Jonathan Reddin, commented,
“We are thrilled to welcome Mrs Boccaccini to Ratcliffe College. As an experienced leader and educationalist, Mrs Boccaccini brings a wealth of knowledge to this crucial role. We are very much looking forward to welcoming Mrs Boccaccini and her family to the Ratcliffe community and hope that her time here is a successful and happy one.”
Mrs Boccaccini will assume the role in January 2026, following the departure of Mrs Minford, whom the College sincerely thanks for her outstanding service to the children of the Preparatory School and the College over the past 3 years.
