Wellington School is proud to congratulate Anouk in Year 7 who has qualified for the girls U12 British Youth Fencing Championships in April. She competed in the U12s South West Region Epee Championships and beat some outstanding local competition.  Wellington has always had a long and illustrious tradition of fencing, having produced many international fencers. Recently, we were proud of Old Wellingtonian Jade Clarke, who was appointed to the Board of Fencers.  Jade fenced for Great Britain in the European and World championships in Jerusalem and Plovdiv and won a team silver medal at the junior Commonwealth championships in Cape Town. She also has a couple of age group British Championship titles, On her appointment to the Board of BF, Jade said, “I am eager and excited to utilise my professional skills, alongside my experience fencing domestically and internationally, to positively contribute to the Board and British Fencing’s strategy going forwards. This is a great opportunity for me to give a little back to a sport that has given me so much.” Well done Anouk – you are following in some excellent footsteps!
