Millfield swimmers selected for Scotland and Wales National Programmes

Millfield swimmers have been selected for Scotland and Wales’ national programmes.

Upper Sixth Evan Jones and Year 10 Charlotte Hardy have been selected for the Scottish Swimming National Squads. Evan will train with the National Senior Squad whilst Charlotte will join the National Junior Team for the 2021-2022 season.

Five Millfield students have made the Swim Wales National Squad programme. Lower Sixth Solomon Williams has been selected for the Elite Transition programme, Lower Sixth Harry Hewitt, Carys Graville, Year 11 Richard Jenkins have all been selected for the Youth Performance squad and Year 9 Sophie Davies will join the Performance Foundation squad.

The swimmers have been recognised within the national programmes which are designed to provide the appropriate level of support to talented swimmers across the country.

Director of Swimming, Euan Dale, said, “These students are exciting prospects, they deserve all the accolades that come their way. It is a community effort where the students, coaches, parents, houseparents, teachers and support staff work together to foster an environment in which success is inevitable. Congratulations to the students and thank you to all involved.”

Millfield swimming provide individuals with the opportunity to discover, enjoy and conquer the realms of competition. In its short history, Millfield has produced 29 Olympians and has had a swimmer at every Olympic Games since 1968.
