DLD College London, a multi-award-winning school, has announced the appointment of a new Student Council following a meticulous application and election process.

Comprised of sixteen dynamic and dedicated individuals from diverse academic backgrounds, the Student Council serves as a voice for the student body, advocating their interests, concerns and aspirations. The cohort, which includes enthusiastic individuals from various school houses, courses and a mix of day and boarding studies, embodies DLD’s commitment to student experience, unique learning opportunities and inclusion.

In addition to advocating for student interests, the Student Council will work closely with DLD’s senior leadership team throughout the academic year to organise student-led events and charity fundraisers, while also enhancing the overall student experience at the college. Each member of the Student Council has taken on a specific responsibility, with roles including Academic, Charity and Events, Equality Diversity and Inclusion, Sustainability and Wellbeing.

Elected as Heads of School, the Student Council is led by two students, Arian and Mariella. Speaking on their appointments, Arian said: “I am very excited and deeply grateful to have the opportunity to take over the role of Head of School.  It is truly a privilege to be entrusted with this role, and I sincerely thank everyone who supported me. We have an exciting journey ahead, full of opportunities to inspire, innovate, and empower everyone in our community.”

Mariella shared the same sentiment and added: “I am deeply honoured to have been elected as one of the new Head of School. I am excited to embark on this journey alongside our dedicated staff, enthusiastic students and supportive families. Together, we will continue to foster an environment where every student feels valued, supported and empowered to reach their fullest potential at DLD College London.”

Irfan Latif, Principal at DLD College London congratulated the new student council and said: “We are delighted to welcome the new Student Council 24/25 and are confident in their ability to serve as effective advocates for their peers. At DLD College London, we recognise the importance of student empowerment and are committed to providing platforms for student voices to be heard.”

A school of diverse thinking and influences, housed in a futuristic building with cutting-edge facilities opposite the Houses of Parliament, London is DLD’s classroom. Students aged 13 to 19 are offered the opportunity to study a wide range of GCSEs, A-Levels, BTEC courses and International Foundation Programmes (IFP). It also offers an Academic Preparation Programme (APC).
