Woodhouse Grove Pupil Involved with Published Biophysical Research

Posted: 5th March 2024

Congratulations to Vincent, one of our sixth form pupils, who travelled to Pennsylvania as part of a team who presented their published research at the Biophysical Society Convention.

During the Summer, Vincent worked on a project that looked at stem cell development and used coding to replicate the action potentials and predicted the ion channel. He reported no difference between the stem cell results and the ones that had been recorded in normal cells.

He, along with the team, used these results to provide further evidence towards the use of cardiac mathematical models in ion currents prediction.
