Keswick School – ‘Lambing live’

Posted: 30th March 2022

What a treat for our younger boarders this weekend when they visited a local farm and helped out in the lambing shed.

Everyone was involved in bottle feeding, bedding up and making sure water buckets were full. They learned about different breeds and that some breeds lamb inside and others outside. Those that lamb inside started about a month ago and a local breed to Cumbria called ‘Herdwicks’ lamb outside later in Spring when the weather is warmer.

Everyone had a really enjoyable afternoon and are desperate to go back and help again. Do ‘Ewe’ think you would have enjoyed this experience? If so have a look at our website to see pictures of the other activities our boarders participate in weekly.
