St Peter’s School, York, ranked as one of the UK’s top 100 independent schools

St Peter’s School, York, has once again been recognised as one of the leading independent schools in the UK.

A leading national school comparison website has awarded St Peter’s School, York, a top five-star certificate of excellence and placed it in the Top 200 independent schools in their 2022 league table. St Peter’s is ranked 53rd in the league table, placing it in the top 100 of all independent schools nationally.

The data gathering website School Guide – which has provided information to the Mumsnet parents’ website and the UK’s top property website Rightmove – rates more than 34,000 state and independent schools in the UK.

School Guide, which has helped over 10 million parents choose the best school for their child, assesses schools according to key performance data, including exam results, inspection reports and progress scores. Parents are also able to write a review of their child’s school and compare against others locally, with a maximum five-star rating.

School Guide founder Victoria Bond said only schools with the highest academic records and in the top 20 per cent of schools in England were awarded five stars. Victoria Bond added: “St Peter’s School’s five-star certificate is the result of its continued dedication to academic excellence despite the many challenges of the pandemic and shows how much its hard working pupils continue to achieve.”
