d’Overbroeck’s launches The International School Olympiad
At d’Overbroeck’s, we help every individual to achieve their full potential. Life at The International School is specifically designed to help develop our students as global citizens and future leaders, from our academic curriculum to our extensive activities programme.
As part of our future-focused approach, this year we are launching our first scholarships at The International School. To commemorate this occasion, we’re introducing The International School Olympiad. This is a global scholarship competition for new International School applicants and is designed to enable talented students to access all the benefits of a d’Overbroeck’s education.
By launching this Olympiad and our new scholarships, we look forward to supporting outstanding scholars to achieve their ambitions, no matter how great.
The International School Olympiad will include two rounds of assessments: a regional round and a global round.
In the regional round, applicants will be invited to:
- sit our entrance assessments
- submit a personal statement
- write a 300-word critical essay on a given topic
- have an interview with a member of our senior leadership team
Regional winners will then be awarded a scholarship place at The International School for September 2021. These scholarship awards will be accompanied by 20% fee remission for our Years 7-9 category winners and 15% fee remission for our Year 10 category winners.
Our regional winners will then be invited to our final global round where they will have the opportunity to win an increased scholarship. In this second round, applicants will be invited to:
- Complete a task based on the theme of ‘global citizens and future leaders’
- Take part in a Q&A discussion based on their response to the task
Our final global winner will be awarded a 10% extension to their scholarship won from the regional round.
Applications for The International School Olympiad are now open until 26 March 2021 for prospective students from the following countries/regions:
Years 7-9 category: Balkan States, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Korea, Myanmar, Russia, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
Year 10 category: Balkan States, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Myanmar, Russia, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.
We continue to receive a lot of interest in our International School programmes, and so we encourage eligible students to submit their applications as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
