Established in 1950, Knighton House is an exceptional friendly co-ed day and boarding school for girls aged 7–13 and boys aged 7–11 with an ‘outstanding’ pre-prep for children aged 3–7.
In a recent announcement, Knighton House has made the decision to move progressively towards co-education. Consequently, for the first time the school is now accepting boys up to and including Year Six as day pupils. This will be extended to include Years 7 and 8 with effect from September 2021. Work is now proceeding on a planned refurbishment of the school’s boarding accommodation in preparation for the move to a full co-education environment in 2022.
Knighton House keeps pace with the expectations of the 21st Century, whilst nurturing its unique traditional values. We pride ourselves on our pastoral care and the opportunities we offer children through a crucial developmental stage of their life. We encourage independent thinking and learning and outdoor play is a key part of the school day. In a delightful country setting, the school provides a safe but challenging environment in which children can discover their strengths, take risks and make friends. Boarding is entirely flexible and ponies and pets are all welcome.
