JOB PURPOSE
As Head of Boarding you will be a presence in boarding leading the supervision and guidance of staff for the safety and welfare of all boarding students. You will be in overall charge of Boarding and to manage efficiently the staffing, organisation and resources of the Boarding department, across both our boarding houses, providing for the safety, good discipline and pastoral well-being of all boarding pupils conducive to learning and growth.
Main Areas of Responsibility
• To be responsible for the general welfare and personal development of all the boarders with expert knowledge and application of the National Minimum Standards for Boarding.
• To rigorously ensure the school complies with regulations outlined in the National Minimum Standards, Independent Schools Regulations, and other relevant legislation.
• To advise the Principal on all matters relating to boarding.
• To create a ‘home away from home’ experience for all boarders.
• To manage the relevant staff, ensuring excellent academic and pastoral care for the boarders.
• To promote excellent working relationships with parents and guardians and to respond to their concerns.
• To be on call to support any situation that may arise within the boarding houses, at any time.
• To manage the budget delegated to the Boarding House effectively.
Hours:
40 hours a week (working hours may vary depending on situations, and the post holder will be expected to attend school events outside of these hours).
