Course outline:
The Department for Education published its long-awaited draft guidance on how to support gender-questioning children in England schools and colleges. We are aware that this has been on many members’ minds and it is hoped that the final guidance will provide a useful framework.
The guidance is currently in draft form and non-statutory. The consultation is open here until 12th March 2024. Boarding schools are considered in the draft guidance in section 6.4. There will no doubt be a number of questions arising from this section.
The event will cover our understanding of the guidance, its implication for English schools and will provide an opportunity for questions and professional discussions.

BSA was delighted to present Planet Spiti Boarding School with an Honorary Membership this year.

The Emma Pattison Award for Compassionate Leadership has been introduced for 2024 in memory of former Epsom College Head, Emma Pattison, recognises an individual who consistently embodies compassion and kindness within their leadership role. The award exemplifies a person who fosters trust, contributes to team morale and makes a meaningful and positive impact on those around them.
