SITUATED AT THE VERY HEART OF MILAN, THE ST. LOUIS SCHOOL COMMUNITY PROVIDES AN INTERNATIONAL, CARING AND FRIENDLY LEARNING ENVIRONMENT FOR OUR STUDENTS. WE OFFER THE HIGHEST STANDARDS OF PASTORAL AND ACADEMIC CARE ACROSS THREE CAMPUSES TO CHILDREN AGED 2 TO 18 THROUGH THE FULL RANGE OF FOUNDATION, PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOLING. HAVING DEVELOPED ITS REPUTATION FOR HIGH-QUALITY EDUCATION FOR OVER 20 YEARS, TODAY’S SCHOOL HAS MORE THAN 1300 STUDENTS, REPRESENTING APPROXIMATELY 50 DIFFERENT NATIONALITIES.

St Louis’ early years curriculum is entirely aligned with the British national curriculum and offers children full immersion in English, building the personal, social, emotional and language skills necessary for the harmonious growth of the child.

Our curriculum in Primary and Middle schools is also entirely aligned with the British national curriculum, but is specially designed both to support the development of our Italian students as fully bilingual children and to allow our international students to learn Italian and its culture. The Primary school is fully recognised by the Italian ministry of education with the ‘parità’ status; St Louis students, therefore, obtain the Primary education certificate (Licenza elementare) at the end of year 6 (equivalent to Quinta elementare) without sitting an external examination. In the Middle school, students who wish to sit the Italian middle school state examinations (Terza media) are prepared by the school and obtain excellent results year on year.

St Louis High School offers its students a rigorous international curriculum through the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) programme in years 10 and 11, and the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBDP) in years 12 and 13. These challenging programmes develop critical thinking and offer a balanced yet flexible education, allowing students to select subjects according to their strengths and interests. Our IB Diploma programme is accredited by the Italian ministry of education and is legally equivalent to a Diploma of Maturità. During the school day, students have the opportunity to receive support from their classroom teachers and participate in extracurricular activities and clubs.

We are proud of our students’ outstanding achievement in these highly regarded and internationally recognised examination programmes, which proves the excellent teaching and learning environment at St Louis. Our experienced teachers ensure that all students are offered the opportunity to fulfil their potential both in and beyond the classroom. As a result, St. Louis students are invariably well-equipped when entering the Universities of their choice all over the world as confident, caring and responsible citizens.

Sports and the arts, community service and adventurous activity (Duke of Edinburgh award) are all central to St. Louis School curriculum. Through our extracurricular and pastoral programmes, we continue to “take the lead” in preparing students for jobs required in the 21st century with valuable skills such as creativity, teamwork, empathy, risk taking, grit, resilience and honesty. We pride ourselves on our warm, welcoming atmosphere and are extremely pleased to invite you to visit our campuses and share with you the achievements of our school and pupils.
