Junior King’s School is an independent co-educational school caring for approximately 80 boarders and 300 day pupils.  The pupils are aged from 3 to 13+ years.

The Sister in Charge heads the Nursing team at the Health Centre and is responsible for the department. The Sister in Charge is accountable to the School Medical Officer and to the Deputy Head Pastoral.

To lead and co-ordinate health centre services for all pupils from Nursery to Year 8 ensuring that high quality nursing provision is delivered across the school site effectively. Including offering support to all staff within the school community. This includes liaising with Matrons/Nursing staff to cover illness within the department.

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic RGN (Band 7) to join our nursing team; they will be a caring person who strives to give the best pro-active patient care to our pupils. The successful candidate would be required to start as soon as possible.

The successful candidate will have accurate medical data recording skills and good IT skills. Previous experience of working with children and young people is highly desirable. Experience in minor injuries, chronic disease management, and child mental health would be an advantage. School nursing experience is also highly desirable.

The ideal candidate will complement our current team of Nurses who provide health care for 80 boarders and 300-day pupils aged between 3 and 13 years of age. The School’s Health Centre is staffed during term time and operates a set rota system. In the future, the hours may involve a 24-hour service.
