The head of future pathways will bring vision, creativity and rigour to the challenge of enhancing the existing strong framework for giving advice and preparation for careers and higher education. The postholder will report directly to the headmistress and will also work closely with the deputy head academic, head of sixth form (also head of UCAS and international applications), assistant heads of sixth form, head of academic enrichment, and the external organisation Tinker Tailor. The postholder will not be responsible for line managing any staff but will benefit from support from the senior leadership and student guidance assistant. The head of future pathways is responsible for developing and implementing an effective strategy to coordinate students’ acquisition of life skills and support their
preparation for higher education, careers and life beyond St Swithun’s.

This is a part time role working 24 hours per week (0.6 of full time), during term time. You will also be required to work for two weeks in the summer holidays following the publication of A Level results. This gives a total of 37 working weeks, plus 5.6 weeks of paid holiday.
