Based in Horsham, Christ’s Hospital is a unique co-educational boarding school and charitable Foundation, which provides first class education for up to 900 children from all backgrounds, supported by over 400 members of staff.

We are looking to recruit a Designer in Residence on a one-year placement for the 2022-23 academic year..

A passion for design, practical engineering and a genuine interest in working with and developing design related skills in young people are essential. The successful candidate should have a genuine interest in teaching Design and Technology with a view to a possible career in the profession.

The successful candidate will be involved in a wide range of design orientated education approaches within the Design Technology Department, including some teaching, and will be expected to become an integral part of our team.

This vacancy would be ideal as a sandwich/placement year or postgraduates who are studying/have studied a degree within a relevant field.  A funding allowance towards personal project work materials and resources is also available subject to discussion with the Head of Design Technology.

The post is residential and single person accommodation is available. Heating, lighting and all meals during term-time will be provided as part of the package.  Salary is c. £13,500 per annum.
