Course outline:

Mental Health First Aiders need to have:

An in-depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing
Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues
Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress
Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening
Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support – whether that’s self-help resources, through their employer, the NHS, or a mix.

Delivered by Nick Ellis, Head trainer and Director at JJ Ellis ltd, this online course will explore many aspects of mental health and help us to recognise the signs of concern.

The training will provide an in-depth knowledge of the complexities behind identification and management, helping attendees identify preventative strategies and support frameworks for those returning to work or school.

Training topics will include:

Contributors to positive mental health
Signs of concern
Healthy and unhealthy coping strategies
Creating a mentally healthier environment
Self-care.

Nick Ellis, First Aid Trainer
