Course outline:

This course takes a look at understanding the teenage brain. It focuses on development in relation to mental health, risk-taking and behaviours seen in the boarding setting.

Training topics will include:

  • The normal brain
  • The teenage brain
  • Why they behave the way they do

Learning outcomes:

  • To have a better understanding of the teenage brain and what is normal behaviour
  • To identify and manage learned behaviours
  • To identify when things go wrong and put in support strategies
  • To create a supportive boarding environment.
