Course outline

BSA’s Boarding box set series is designed for boarding staff and school leaders giving them a broad overview series of a range of key topics relating to boarding. This series would be ideal for staff moving into senior positions in boarding, preparing for Deputy Headship and consolidating their understanding on the wider sector ‘headlines’.

This set will be £650 for a member series place.

Managing a boarding house is a complex and sometimes difficult path to follow. This webinar will explore some guiding principles for boarding staff and address issues that arise in terms of managing the 4 Ps, People, Policies, Procedures and Premises, that form the backbone to a happy and content boarding house.

Training topics will include:

• Leadership styles and team dynamics
• Working with school policies and procedures with the sometimes grey areas of managing a house and boarders
• Ways to manage the school’s and parent’s expectations of a ‘Home from Home’ mindset, in a boarding environment that has a much larger and diverse population living within the walls of the house.
