Working in boarding is one of the most rewarding jobs in a boarding school but when your home is your job, getting the work/life blend right can be challenging, particularly at the end of an academic year. As we approach the holidays, it is imperative to get that rest and recuperation ready for the onslaught of the Autumn term.  This event will explore how to set boundaries on your time, manage expectations, and protect yourself and your family so that you can provide outstanding pastoral care to the pupils in your boarding house. It will provide creative ideas to allow you to relax and provide reinvigoration for the following year.

  • Develop a balance in routine that allows for work, your family and yourself to each have a slice of your time

Training topics will include:

  • Current challenges of the role
  • Time management and effective systems
  • Stakeholders in you and your role
  • Healthy lifestyle

Learning Outcomes

  • Delegates will have the opportunity to evaluate current practice leading to the management and development of a sustainable work/life balance
