Our 60 acre campus, located only 30 minutes outside Venice, has two residential buildings that are home to 150+ international high school students. The H-FARM Boarding team seeks a dynamic and entrepreneurial individual to implement and expand programs that accelerate the personal and academic growth of H-FARM’s most important resource – our students. The ideal candidate is an experienced educator who has a fine understanding of adolescence and the inner workings of running a boarding program. This person will have ownership of entire learning and development programs and will work with the H-FARM Boarding team in executing enriching student-centric learning experiences.

Primary Responsibilities

This is a full-time position with a competitive salary, with the following requirements: 

  • Daily work shift in the afternoon and night (about 4-11pm)
  • 3 nights on duty (passive supervision), sleeping in a separate private room, being on call in case of emergency.
  • Weekly shifts

Evolve Existing Learning and Development Programming (20%)

  • Create training courses for adolescent students with competence and professionalism (inclusion, specific issues related to adolescence, reflection courses on cultural and current affairs)
  • Develop educational projects for boarding students and for daily students

Student Supervision  (80%)

  • Provide a sympathetic presence in the House; to liaise closely with Head of Boarding and other staff concerning the progress and welfare of students
  • Build positive, professional relationships with parents, agents and guardians
  • Provide relevant staff with information about individual students as necessary
  • Support and lead children and young people between 14 and 19 years old during afternoon activities (homework, educational activities, recreational moments) but also on weekends, outside strictly school times
  • Take care of the ordinary and extraordinary needs of the students who live in our boarding (study, well-being, safety, practical aspects of hospitality, health, cleanliness)
  • Supervision and vigilance during breaks (snacks and dinners, evenings but also some nights during the week) interacting with young boarders and knowing how to intervene competently in relationships
  • Coordinate and collaborate with the whole team in a shared co-responsibility based on educational passion
  • Manage group dynamics together with relational and communication skills

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of professional experience related to higher education, coaching, international schools, psychology, and/or counselling
  • Bachelor’s degree required, with preferred studies in education and pedagogy
  • Previous experience working with children aged 12-18 years old
  • Working experience abroad or at an international company preferred
  • Native English speaker with at least a B2 knowledge of a second language, preferably Russian, Spanish, Chinese, French, or German
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and a fast-paced environment
  • A style of on-the-go problem solving
  • Project management skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Passion for learning and continuous improvement
  • Accountable to expectations and deadlines                                                     
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, along with a sense of humour  
  • Driver’s licence
  • Immaculate criminal record
