Role:

We are searching for a Student Engagement Officer to ensure students remain engaged with Queen Ethelburga’s, both in the period of time between registration and start date, and once the programme has commenced, in order to maximise student retention.

This job description is written at a specific time and is subject to change as the demands of the Collegiate and the role develops. The role requires flexibility and adaptability and the employees of the Collegiate need to be aware that they may be asked to perform tasks and be given responsibilities not detailed in this job description.

 

Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Carry out promotional activities with parents/guardians/agents/registered and current students, including Collegiate tours, engagement events and communication campaigns
  • Carry out administrative and general office tasks, both computer and paper based, including liaising with other staff, parents and agents
  • Assist with the production of marketing materials, and the running of online and face-to-face webinars and open days
  • Support registered students, parents, and agents, with visa applications and UKVI requirements, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation
  • Carry out passport and police registration administration
  • Carry out tasks to maximise student retention, including obtaining and collating reasons for each student considering leaving Queen Ethelburga’s; assisting with making changes/providing information in order to retain students; working directly with staff/students/parents/agents/QE staff on the above
  • Take responsibility for all events, working closely with relevant staff and students, and ensuring that the quality and participation for each event has a positive impact on the reputation and sustainability of Queen Ethelburga’s; for those administered by our overseas team, take shared responsibility
  • Monitor competitor activity and use this knowledge to support the Director/Registrar by providing regular summaries as to how to improve what we offer

 

The Appointed Candidate will have:

  • Experience of working in a school environment (Desirable)
  • Understanding of the importance of safeguarding in a school environment
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Ability to write professional, literate emails
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Desirable)
  • Grade C/4 or equivalent in GCSE English and Mathematics
  • Marketing and/or administrative qualifications (Desirable)
  • Motivation to work amongst children and young people
