Speaker:

Iain Mahony

Since 2018, I have researched, designed and delivered talks on addiction, body image and masculinity to pupils, parents and staff at more than 100 leading UK independent schools. My approach is to educate and inform without lecturing, creating open, honest and non-judgemental conversations around the challenges young people face. My sessions explore the pressures and expectations that can influence mental health, self-esteem, relationships and decision-making, while encouraging greater self-awareness, resilience and empathy.

Having attended Uppingham School myself, I understand that an independent school education brings significant opportunities and advantages, but can also come with its own pressures and expectations. I aim to help audiences navigate these complexities with greater confidence, make informed choices and feel better equipped to look after their own wellbeing and support those around them.
