Course outline:

This course will look at some of the key tensions within a boarding house which may lead to disputes โ€“ either โ€˜in the momentโ€™ or ongoing. We will also discuss the issue of โ€˜relational aggressionโ€™ and how to identify and manage this.

Training topics will include:

  • Identifying types and causes of disputes and relationship problems between boarders.
  • Setting a positive boarding house culture.
  • When to intervene in a dispute.
  • Relational aggression.

Learning outcomes:

  • Be able to identify better disputes between boarders.
  • Form new ideas for how to set a positive boarding culture to enable early intervention.
  • Understand the concept of โ€˜relational aggressionโ€™ and develop strategies to combat it within your school.
