Course Outline

This virtual seminarโ€ฏis for any BSA, SACPA or BAISIS member with responsibility for developing strategy in their organisation, or part of it. BSA Group CEO Robin Fletcher and former P&O/Cunard Chief Financial Officer Ed Jones explain the standard โ€˜tool boxโ€™ of strategic planning tools, how they work and why they help and use case studies from a range of sectors to look at how strategic planning works in the real world.

  • Tools and techniques
  • Case studies from other organisations and sectors
  • Case studies from education
  • Building your own strategy tool kit.

  • Greater understanding of how to create a strategy for your organisation

  • An understanding of how other organisations approach strategy, and how this can apply to schools.

Speaker: Robin Fletcher, Chief Executive, BSA and BSA Group

Robin Fletcher,โ€ฏMBA, MPhil is CEO of BSA Group, comprising the BSA (Boarding Schoolsโ€™ Association), SACPA (Safeguarding and Child Protection Association) and BAISIS (British Association of Independent Schools with International Students). Robin was a journalist, editor and communications director before joining BSA in 2014.

As BSA CEO,โ€ฏRobin is a member of the Department for Educationโ€™s Systems Partnership Oversight Board. Outside BSA, he is an elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, an Honorary Fellow of Cardiff Metropolitan University, a Governor of Rugby School, President of theย Rugbeianย Society and a non-executive director of the national trade body Make UK.โ€ฏHe lives in Bath in southwest England and has two daughters, two stepdaughters, and two stepsons.

Speaker: Ed Jones, Non-Executive Director, Business Advisor and former CFO for Carnival

Ed Jonesโ€ฏworks with management teams to shape their business strategy and plans, reviewing performance and managing key risks. Previously, Ed was CFO at Carnival UK and was a key member of the team who quadrupled the size of the P&O and Cunard Line businesses with a turnover reaching ยฃ1.5bn.
