Understanding Your Duties as a UKVI Student Sponsor: A Guide for Schools

Compliance with UKVI sponsor licence duties is a whole-school responsibility—one that extends well beyond the Child Student visa application process. Whether you’re new to international student sponsorship or looking to refresh your knowledge, this session will provide the essential overview required to ensure your school remains compliant and inspection-ready.

This practical and informative session is designed to help key school staff understand the scope of their responsibilities, the risks of non-compliance, and how to implement effective systems that meet UKVI requirements.

Training topics will include:

  • What it means to be a UKVI licensed sponsor
  • Managing your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) allocation and Basic Compliance Assessment (BCA)
  • Monitoring, reporting, and record-keeping responsibilities
  • Practical tips to prepare for a successful UKVI inspection

Learning outcomes:

By the end of the session, participants will:

  • Understand the key roles and responsibilities of being a UKVI sponsor
  • Gain confidence in their current knowledge or establish a strong foundation for further learning
