Course outline:

Pupil voice is not only a key element in inspection frameworks but a cornerstone of a thriving school community. When implemented effectively, it leads to increased engagement, stronger relationships, and measurable school improvement.

This session will covers the benefits of involving students in decision-making, practical considerations for organising pupil voice initiatives, and techniques to promote authentic and meaningful pupil voice.

It will also support schools in meeting the expectations outlined in the UK National Minimum Standards (NMS), particularly those relating to pupil voice and boarder participation in decision-making.

Learning outcomes:

  • Understand the value of student participation in school decision-making
  • Be equipped to plan and facilitate pupil voice activities
  • Learn strategies to ensure pupil voice is meaningful and sustained
  • Gain confidence in embedding pupil feedback into school development processes.
