Position: VT of Viola and Violin (Maternity Cover)
Location: On site, Westbury-on-Trym BS9 3BA
Hours: The number of lessons will depend on demand and cannot be guaranteed. Initially, there will be one viola pupil, two violin pupils and a weekly training orchestra support role. There will also be opportunities to undertake occasional paid playing in school concerts.
The closing date for this position will be Thursday 5th March at 8:00am

We are looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring Visiting Teacher of Viola and Violin to support the Music Department on a maternity cover basis.
Main responsibilities include:
- To stimulate and foster enthusiasm for Violin playing within the school
- Prepare lessons taking account of the pupils’ abilities
- Identify and encourage each pupil to realise their potential
- Employing good subject knowledge, become fully acquainted with the appropriate specifications and exam boards and carry out the requirements thereof
- Keep abreast of developments in your music teaching
To be considered for this position, we are looking for the following:
- An outstanding viola and violin player
- An experienced teacher of viola and violin
- Excellent subject knowledge
- A clear understanding of music examination boards, including ABRSM and Trinity
