Why should you attend?
This seminar will provide an opportunity for delegates to review current practice and lessons learned from previous inspections. The speakers will help delegates understand how to efficiently prepare for a boarding inspection, paying close attention to updates in current legislation and how this will impact procedures already in place.
The workshop will provide an overview of safeguarding standards, an inspection model and explore self-evaluation and evidence gathering.

Dale Wilkins completed over 30 years as a boarding practitioner before joining BSA permanently in September 2017. Dale began his career as a boarding tutor at Norwich School, ran a junior girls' house with his wife at Tettenhall College, and then moved to Old Swinford Hospital in Stourbridge, where he spent 25 years as Housemaster in both senior and junior boys' houses, as Director of Boarding and then as Deputy Head and Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Dale has also been a course tutor and trainer for the BSA for almost twenty years, was a sector professional inspector under NCSC, CSCI and Ofsted, and a trainer for the local safeguarding board.
Sue Duff is now a Reporting Inspector, boarding school consultant and trainer. In post she was on the Senior Leadership Teams in both HMC and GSA schools and moved to set up full co-education at Bradfield College in 2005. She has also been a Head of Boarding, Head of Academic Departments and Senior Housemistress. She has also taught in an IAPS school working particularly with longer distance boarders ensuring their needs were met. Her teaching and department management experience is predominantly in Business, ICT, Geography and EAL, working on the IB as a CAS coordinator and tutoring on the Extended Project Qualification. She is a Governor at an HMC co-ed school of 700 pupils.
