The Band Project

The Band Project is a specialist Rock and Pop music provider for independent day and boarding schools, delivering modern, band-based music experiences that become part of the wider culture of school life. Open to Year 4 – Year 13, we offer weekly 60-minute Band Sessions that build towards exciting termly live performances for students, staff, friends and parents, alongside our unique half-day and full-day Gig In A Day workshops. We can also provide high-quality peripatetic music teaching across all instruments, supporting schools with both co-curricular and curriculum music provision.

At the heart of The Band Project is the belief that music is a vehicle for personal growth as much as musical development. Every session is designed to build confidence, encourage collaboration and create a strong sense of belonging through shared creative experiences. Everything we do is built around our core ethos of:

In boarding environments especially, The Band Project provides a meaningful, mindful and collaborative outlet that helps students connect, express themselves and grow together.

We are committed to adhering to the safeguarding policies and procedures of each of our partner schools. Tutors undertake any school-specific safeguarding training required, alongside dedicated Band Project training led by Director Chris Mountford, supported by ongoing top-up training and professional development. Our team all hold Enhanced DBS certification and are registered on the DBS Update Service. They are experienced music educators who understand the pastoral responsibilities of working within boarding environments and the importance of creating safe, supportive and inclusive spaces where students feel encouraged, valued and able to express themselves with confidence.
