The Yew Wah International Education Foundation is built upon the many decades of experience of Yew Chung, our sister organisation, in offering quality international education in Hong Kong and mainland China. Dr. Betty Chan and Professor Paul Yip founded the Yew Wah family of schools with the desire to bring international education to both Chinese and foreign students in China. The first YWIES was founded in the year 2000, however our broader Foundation is 87 years old in 2019 and YCIS and YWIES are now represented in many major cities throughout China. Our Shanghai Lingang campus is in its fifth year in 2019 and we have grown to 700 students, 450 of them boarders, in this short time. YWIES Shanghai Lingang is committed to holistic education and has developed new educational concepts such as “Co-Principals”, “Co-Teaching” and “liberate the joy of learning”, building bilingual skills and multicultural perspectives in every student.
