Worth is a distinctive school, set in 500 acres of countryside alongside the iconic Worth Abbey. The school is known for its high academic standards, strong community and the excellence of its all-round education. There are some 615 boys and girls aged from 11 -18. Worth’s Benedictine ethos permeates all that we do and underpins the excellent pastoral care available to each student. All denominations are welcome, and there are scholarships and bursaries available for academic, artistic, musical or sporting excellence. Sixth Form students have the option to study for A Levels or the International Baccalaureate (IB) and our pupils go on to attend the top universities both in the UK and abroad. There is a huge range of extra-curricular activities on offer and the school remains a centre of excellence for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme. The school’s reputation for sport is growing with some notable successes in rugby, hockey, golf, football and cricket, with students participating at county, national and international level in sports such as fencing, cricket, rugby, football, golf and show jumping. Worth is perhaps best known for its drama and musical activities and these continue to thrive with the school boasting an outstanding choir, 65-piece orchestra and numerous rock, jazz and classical groups. Drama productions are to an exceptionally high standard and cover a full range of classical, contemporary and musical plays. Flexi boarding is now offered for boys and girls from Year 9 upwards subject to availability. Worth was named Boarding School of the Year at the Independent Schools of the Year awards in October 2024.
