‘Tell me and I forget. Show me and I remember. Involve me and I understand.’ Founded in 1707, Warminster School is one of the South West’s leading independent day and boarding schools for boys and girls aged 3–18. Warminster School comprises Warminster Preparatory School for pupils aged 3–11 and the Senior School for students aged 11–18. Warminster School places a very strong emphasis on the holistic development of each child as a valued individual. Within our community, characterised by a supportive and welcoming family atmosphere, individuality flourishes. Each child is encouraged to develop and thrive both academically and in all areas of sporting and extracurricular endeavour. Academic and extracurricular opportunities Academic results are strong: in 2012, the A-level pass rate was 100%. Our IB results placed us 38th out of the 200+ schools offering the International Baccalaureate. Our top IB scholar last year scored an outstanding 44 points out of 45. Virtually all of our students go on to study at leading universities, including Oxford and Cambridge. With a talented and enthusiastic staff and a rich and diverse range of subjects and activities on offer, pupils are able to develop their potential to the full. We pride ourselves on the breadth of opportunities offered: students can participate in a wide range of extracurricular activities including music, drama, Combined Cadet Force (CCF) and a comprehensive range of sports. Facilities There have been a number of exciting new developments in recent years: significant investment has given Warminster pupils access to first-class facilities, including a new science centre, improved sixth-form facilities, a new library and IT suite, a new design and technology (DT) centre and a new dining hall. We believe it is important that our students feel as comfortable as possible. The six boarding houses have a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, and the experienced resident house staff provide a warm and supportive environment. Admissions Academic standards at Warminster School are high, but the admissions procedure looks at the whole person and we welcome pupils with a range of talents and ability. Academic, music, drama, art, sport and DT scholarships are available. A 10% discount is available for HM Forces families. There is a 5% Sibling Discount. Means-tested bursaries are also available.
