Thornton is an independent day and boarding school for girls aged between 3and 18. Over 60 girls board on a weekly or termly basis and many more take advantage of our occasional/flexi boarding option.
The School is set within 25 acres of beautiful grounds just outside Buckingham and within easy reach of Milton Keynes, North Bucks and Northampton. We are a Catholic school with strong Christian values where girls of all faiths and none are very welcome.
Our boarding is ‘upstairs’ in our main manor house offering a home from home experience. Our boarding bedrooms and living areas are bright and spacious. Girls in years 11 & 12 have a single study room and our Year 13 boarders have their own bedrooms in our Villa, a separate boarding house in our grounds. Boarders enjoy a rich and densley packed programme of evening and weekend activities.
Pupils receive an outstanding education and make excellent progress at Thornton. Your daughter would be encouraged and expected to achieve her personal best in all she does. We believe that teaching and learning should be both challenging and enjoyable for pupils of all abilities and we aim for the highest possible standards. Whether she is the most gifted academically, a good all-rounder or needs additional help in some areas, your daughter will receive a stimulating and rewarding educational experience suited to her needs.
