The Royal School Armagh was founded in 1608. The School has a close knit boarding community of approximately 80 boarders, and offers high quality education, an extensive extra-curricular programme and excellence of care in boarding.The School provides an environment where children are safe and happy and have the opportunities to develop in a structured setting, learning to live and work with others of similar ages.
The boarding community work together to provide emotional security and support for children through their adolescent years and endeavour to ensure they are able to acquire productive and effective study habits and to participate in the wide range of opportunities available to them.
The School is renowned for its academic reputation which has been built over the years on the quality of teaching and learning. In 2013, the Sunday Times Good School Guide place the Royal School as the 11th top school in Northern Ireland and 78th in the top 250 schools in the United Kingdom based on the 2013 examination results.
