Rochester Independent College is a co-educational, independent day and boarding school for students from the age of 11 to the sixth form. The college provides a fresh alternative to traditional independent education, combining a focus on rigour and excellent examination results with an informal learning environment. There is no school uniform, students and staff are on first name terms and the average class size is eight.

RIC has a number of vacancies for residential teaching assistants and boarding house tutors. We are looking for academically strong, enthusiastic graduates who are keen to experience the teaching, pastoral and extra curricular aspects of boarding school life. These positions are intended to suit those with an interest in pursuing a career in education. Full training and support will be given.

We are able to structure the roles around the interests and skills of the applicants but we are particularly interested in hearing from graduates in English, Maths, Computer Science/ICT, Sport, Physics, Photography and History.

Rochester Independent College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All posts are subject to an enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service and check against the ISA Barred List for children.

“The subject knowledge of teaching staff recruited by the senior management team is excellent and teachers share the vision that the team has created. All show a strong commitment to the success of the college. The creation of a friendly community which enables students to realise their potential is the focus of all staff.” ISI inspection
