Mander Porter Woodward College is an independent co-educational day school for students aged 14 to 19. The college was founded in
1973, originally offering small group tuition for Oxbridge entrance and A-level retakes. However, for several decades now, the college
has been offering a full suite of course durations at both A level and GCSE. The bulk of the college’s students are now engaged on
two-year A level courses.
The college is part of the Mander Portman Woodward Group (MPW), with colleges in Birmingham and Cambridge as well as London.
MPW London moved to its present site in Queen’s Gate, South Kensington in 2000.
A large proportion of students come from independent schools in the London area and from a wide socio-economic and racial
background. Approximately 28% of students are of non-UK nationality and approximately 25% were previously educated overseas.
