Lambrook is an outstanding Preparatory School, for boys and girls aged between 3 and 13 that seeks to provide the best possible opportunities for its pupils. The School is situated in 52 acres of Berkshire countryside and offers some of the best facilities in the Independent Sector at Preparatory level, creating an environment in which pupils can play explore, develop, create, grow and fulfil their potential.
Since 1860, Lambrook has been laying the foundations for its pupils’ futures. The School has maintained continued excellence and continues to grow stronger each year. Children have one opportunity for an education which will form the basis of their lives and, at the same time, one childhood; Lambrook aims to keep a happy balance between the two.
During their time at Lambrook, we give our pupils the ‘Feathers to Fly’ so that when they leave us, they will spread their wings and will take flight, leaving Lambrook as confident, happy, engaging, mature and thoughtful young adults. As an eagle rides the many different currents of air across the different quarters of the world, rising and gliding according to the weather and circumstances it encounters, so we need to prepare our children with the necessary feathers to cope with the changes and challenges of school and beyond. These ‘feathers’ include a healthy ‘plumage’ of academic, sport, music, drama, the creative arts, leadership programmes, expeditions and charitable events to name but a few.
Lambrook offers weekly and flexi boarding for boys and girls from age 7 to 13. There is a thriving boarding community where pupils board anything from 5 nights a week to 1 night every so often. There are 50 beds between two boarding houses; Lambrook House for girls and Westfield for boys. Each house is overseen by a house parent and supported by tutors. Boarding is seen as a happy extension of Lambrook School life with 75% of the Prep School taking advantage of boarding in some way and many families take the opportunity of flexi-boarding to prepare their children for their future schools. All boarders, whether weekly, flexible or occasional, are fully integrated into boarding life and are part of a family environment to eat, work and to relax together.
