Kingswood School is an independent co-educational day and boarding school located on a magnificent 200-acre site in Bath. Both the Prep School (nine months – 11 years, with boarding from age 7) and the Senior School (11 – 18 years) offer a broad, holistic education, in which pupils are encouraged to develop self-assurance and high levels of personal motivation.

Kingswood is a school which transforms lives, and the commitment to make a real difference to every boy and girl who passes through sits at the very heart of the School’s ethos. Students are challenged to develop their own talents while encouraging others to do the same. Kingswood promotes confidence, open-mindedness and tolerance along with creativity and a spirit of enquiry. Academic achievement takes place within the context of all-round personal development, and high standards are combined with a sense of responsibility and service. Kingswood students excel on a personal level while also making a real difference to the lives of others.

Kingswood is open all hours and offers a home-away-from-home environment. Flexibility and support for working parents are very much part of the Kingswood ethos. Parents of day pupils can take advantage of early-morning breakfast, late stay with supper and prep or the option to board overnight in one of our warm and cosy boarding houses while knowing their children are surrounded by friends and looked after by dedicated staff.

Kingswood is widely recognised as one of the top schools for sport in the South-West, with students competing at both national and international levels. We are fortunate to have strong links with various professional clubs such as Bath Rugby; we work with Team Bath at Bath University so that we can support gifted and talented sportsmen and women in fulfilling their athletic potential.

Academic results are consistently excellent. In recent years, Kingswood has been ranked in the top 5% nationally for added-value, and regularly placed in the top 10 co-educational boarding or boarding/day schools. 98% of students go onto university and 84% achieved the coveted A*-B grades required for entry into Russell Group universities.

In the most recent ISI Inspection, Kingswood School was rated as “excellent” in all nine categories of the inspection. Among the categories praised strongly by the inspection team were teaching and learning, pastoral care, extra-curricular provision, boarding and the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of pupils.

At Kingswood, we believe that every individual has talents to be discovered and nurtured. We develop these whilst also preparing students for their future beyond school. With an extensive co-curricular programme offering over 100 activities, pupils achieve astonishing successes as they constantly progress well beyond their natural potential.
