Hereford Cathedral School is one of the oldest schools in the UK, set in the beautiful historic setting of The Cathedral Close. The school seeks to provide an exciting and dynamic environment in which young people can feel happy in themselves, secure in their learning and confident that they are developing the life skills necessary for the challenges ahead. Small class sizes, specialist teaching staff and strong pastoral care ensure that each pupil is seen as an individual. Academic results are excellent – in 2018 48% of A Level grades were A*-A and 53% of GCSEs were A*-A. More than 90% of students gain a place at their first choice university, including Oxford, Cambridge and other Russell Group universities.
The school has a national reputation for music, and is outstanding in its provision of academic teaching and a broad range of clubs and activities. Students participate in a wide range of exciting extra-curricular activities, including overseas visits, flying, debating or competing in school, county or national level sport.
