Framlingham College was founded in 1864 in memory of Prince Albert, the husband of Queen Victoria. The College is a vibrant co-educational boarding and day school in beautiful Suffolk.  The College enjoys a magnificent situation, looking out across the Mere to the twelfth-century castle. The College grounds are extensive and the original mock-Gothic buildings have been developed over the years, as a result of significant building initiatives. Its facilities now are quite exceptional.

At Framlingham we believe in the individual. There is no typical Framlinghamian, no singular path that we take: we are academics, actors, musicians, expeditioners, sports people, innovators, scientists, ruminators, decision makers, story tellers, teammates, artists, fun lovers, nurturers and thought provokers. Often, we are many things within one. But we are all individual, each with our own story.

Everyone at Framlingham is valued for who they are, for their experiences, character, and belief in their future. Our commitment is to ready each of our pupils for their adult world. We inspire and guide them, equipping them with essential skills, such as collaborative and critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and good judgement. We encourage them to seek out challenge and embrace opportunity. We provide the time to reflect and learn from each experience. We build the foundations for them to better understand themselves and the world around them.

To that end, our learning culture is ambitious. It permeates all that we do, both within the classroom and beyond. We are aspirational for each of our young people and we are dedicated to instilling a life-long curiosity and love of enquiry.

We know that a happy child thrives. From our House structure to our experienced and well-trained tutors, our pastoral care is outstanding. And in its own way, our location โ€“ beautiful countryside and big Suffolk skies โ€“ plays a significant part in the wellbeing of our pupils. There is space to think, to breathe, and to gain perspective.

Inspired by the individuality, entrepreneurialism and creativity of this region, our pupilsโ€™ paths are varied. Recent leavers have gone on to study Film Making, PPE, Biomedical Sciences, Design, Anthropology, Artificial Intelligence, Physics, Drama, Psychology and Criminology. Some have left to pursue musical careers, having secured recording contracts or places at conservatoires; others have gained sports scholarships to Stanford and Yale. This variety is our definition of success.

All of our pupils leave with an appreciation of the education they have experienced and an awareness of the issues facing society, inspired to give back to their community, however that may be.
