Bede’s Senior School is an independent HMC day and boarding school for boys and girls aged 13 to 18. Located in the rural Sussex village of Upper Dicker just outside the South Downs National Park, the School currently educates 830 pupils, 340 of whom board in our five boarding houses.
Bede’s aspires to be the place where pupils are able to find joy in their pursuit of brilliance. Its holistic philosophy which puts the individual first and gives equal priority to academic, co-curricular and pastoral aspects of life, Bede’s is an unashamedly modern school which steadfastly refuses to top-slice its intake, believing instead that it can draw the academic potential from all children.
The School believes in discovering the talents of every pupil and in enabling each individual to succeed in every aspect of their education. This approach is founded on our four core values, Compassion, Courage, Curiosity and Conscientiousness. In so doing, placing creativity, passion and individuality at the heart of school life.
