Beachborough is a friendly and energetic Independent Prep School situated at Westbury Manor, in 30 acres of leafy grounds on the borders of Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire. We provide education for around 300 boys and girls, a quarter of whom take advantage of our flexible boarding provision. We are large enough to have a diverse and lively community, yet small enough for each individual to be known and nurtured. Recent history has seen Beachborough invest over one and a half million pounds in new and upgraded facilities, winning awards along the way. Coupled with excellent inspection reports we enjoy an enviable reputation as a family-focused, happy and caring community where children have the capacity to excel in all areas of school life. Some years ago we took the bold decision to move away from Saturday school – not just to endorse the importance of family but to give children time to play and pursue personal interests. We believe that a good prep school education will give children opportunities that will equip them intellectually, physically, culturally and emotionally for the challenges of the twenty first century. Beachborough’s curriculum and co-curricular programme are unashamedly broad and creative, making the best use of technology and our modern facilities. Children are encouraged to have no fear of making mistakes; we urge them to step out of their comfort zone and embrace risk taking. Our Code of Conduct is central to all that we do both in and out of the classroom, with an emphasis on the time honoured virtues of good manners, self-discipline and respect for others, whilst nurturing happiness and self-confidence. At whatever stage your child joins us, be it Nursery (pupils aged 2½ to 4), Pre-Prep (pupils aged 5 to 7) or Prep School (pupils aged 8 to 13) they will be warmly welcomed into the school. We are not obsessed with reflecting on past glories or the latest headline grabbing news, but an active desire to find each child’s individual talent and help them surpass their personal best. On average half of our children who leave at 13 are awarded scholarships across a range of academic, sporting and cultural disciplines. Our parents use words such as inclusive, nurturing and rounded to define our school so if you share in our belief that happy children thrive, please arrange a visit.
